Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Parenting the Spectrum website and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
Services Offered
Parenting the Spectrum provides autism parent coaching, IEP advocacy, specialized tutoring, and related educational support services. Our services include:
- Foundations Program: A 4-week group coaching program for newly diagnosed families
- IEP Advocacy: Support and guidance for navigating the IEP process
- Specialized Tutoring: Neurodivergent-informed academic tutoring
- Parent Strategy Sessions: One-on-one consultations for specific challenges
Services are provided virtually across the United States and in-person in Northwest Florida.
Educational Services Disclaimer
Important: Parenting the Spectrum provides educational coaching and support services. We are not a licensed medical, therapeutic, or legal practice. Our services do not constitute:
- Medical diagnosis or treatment
- Psychological or behavioral therapy
- Legal advice or representation
- Special education services as defined by IDEA
We recommend consulting with licensed professionals (physicians, therapists, attorneys) for medical, therapeutic, or legal matters. Our IEP advocacy services provide educational support and guidance but do not replace legal counsel.
Enrollment and Payment
Registration
To enroll in our programs or services, you must complete the registration process and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information.
Payment Terms
Payment is required at the time of booking or enrollment unless otherwise specified. We accept payment through our scheduling platform (Acuity Scheduling) and other designated payment methods. All fees are in U.S. dollars.
Refund Policy
Foundations Program: Full refund available if requested within 7 days of enrollment and before the first session. After the first session, refunds are prorated based on remaining sessions.
Individual Sessions: Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund or credit toward future sessions. Late cancellations or no-shows are non-refundable.
Tutoring Services: Refund policy will be outlined in your tutoring agreement.
Scheduling and Attendance
Sessions are scheduled through our online booking system. You are responsible for attending scheduled sessions at the designated time. We reserve the right to reschedule sessions due to instructor illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.
For group programs (Foundations), consistent attendance is expected to maximize benefit. Missed sessions may be reviewed via replay access where available, but live session time cannot be made up.
Confidentiality
We respect your privacy and maintain confidentiality of information shared during coaching and tutoring sessions, except where:
- Disclosure is required by law
- There is a risk of harm to yourself or others
- You provide written consent to share information
For group programs, participants are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding other participants' personal information shared during sessions.
Intellectual Property
All content provided through our services, including course materials, handouts, worksheets, and recordings, is the intellectual property of Parenting the Spectrum and is protected by copyright law.
You may use materials for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not:
- Reproduce, distribute, or sell our materials
- Share recordings or materials with non-participants
- Use our content to create derivative works or competing services
Code of Conduct
We are committed to providing a respectful, supportive environment. Participants are expected to:
- Treat instructors and other participants with respect
- Refrain from discriminatory, harassing, or abusive behavior
- Participate in good faith and engage constructively
- Respect confidentiality of other participants
We reserve the right to remove participants who violate this code of conduct, without refund.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Parenting the Spectrum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.
Our total liability for any claims related to our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Parenting the Spectrum, its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our services or violation of these Terms.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to our services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other participants, us, or third parties.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
