Terms of Service

Last updated: April 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of Parenting the Spectrum's website and services. By visiting this site or booking a service, you agree to these terms.

Educational consulting, not legal advice

Merrie Weekley is a former special education teacher and current parent advocate, not an attorney. Red Flag Audits, Coaching Sessions, advocacy services, parent coaching, and tutoring are educational consulting services. Nothing on this site or in any engagement with us constitutes legal advice. If you are pursuing formal complaints, mediation, or due process, consult a licensed special education attorney.

No guarantee of outcomes

We bring our experience and expertise to your situation, but the outcome of any IEP meeting, evaluation, dispute, or tutoring engagement depends on many factors outside our control. We do not guarantee that any specific service will be added to your child's IEP, that any specific behavior will improve, or that any specific educational outcome will be achieved.

Service availability

In-person services are limited to the cities listed in our Service Areas. Virtual services are available throughout the United States, but local laws and regulations may affect what advocacy is possible in your specific state and district.

Cancellations and refunds

Coaching Sessions and Red Flag Audits can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice. If a Red Flag Audit has been delivered (the written audit document), it is non-refundable; if you cancel before the audit is delivered, you may receive a partial refund. Tutoring sessions can be paused or canceled at any time without penalty.

Payment

Payments for Coaching Sessions, Red Flag Audits, and full advocacy are processed through Acuity Scheduling. Tutoring payments are processed through TutorBird or Step Up For Students depending on whether you're paying privately or via scholarship. Late payment for ongoing services may result in suspension of services until the balance is current.

Intellectual property

The content on this site (text, photos, illustrations, the Red Flag Audit methodology, our tutoring curriculum) is owned by Parenting the Spectrum. Documents delivered to you (your audit, tutoring materials) are licensed for your personal use. You may not republish or redistribute them without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of our services is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Escambia County, Florida.
